Sabres out to protect your identity

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Buffalo Sabres and First Niagara Bank want to protect your identity and help the environment at the same time.

A "shredding it" day was held at select First Niagara Bank locations in western New York Saturday.

Experts say paper-based identity theft is up nearly 50% from last year.

Fans who brought documents to be shredded received a coupon for 20% off at the Sabres Store.
