Santa from Fort Erie surfs along river

ONTARIO, N.Y. (WIVB) - One man's holiday tradition ran more smoothly today than in the past across the Border in Canada.

Every year, a man by the name of John Fulton of Fort Erie, Ontario puts on a red suit and windsurfs along the Niagara River.

He's known as Surfing Santa.

In the past, he's run into trouble with the U.S Border Patrol for surfing too close to Buffalo.

However, there was no such problem this time around as the Border Patrol officially "sanctioned" Santa's surf having a boat out just in case he has trouble in the water.
