BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Senator Charles Schumer announced a three-pronged approach plan to combat the scourge of counterfeit hat producers in China and elsewhere overseas.

He says millions of fake caps and other knock-off clothing threaten New Era Cap company.

In February, News 4 did a special report on knock-off merchandise in western New York . At the time, U.S. Attorney William Hochul said, “American companies and individuals lose upwards of $250 billion a year to groups and individuals who would engage in trafficking in counterfeit goods and services.”
