OAKFIELD, N.Y. (WIVB) - An automobile accident killed a man in Genesee county Thursday night. A single-car crash took place on Lockport Road in the Town of Oakfield around 7:15 p.m.
Police report that a 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 21-year-old Stephen Ferry, of South Alabama, NY, lost control and slid sideways off the road, striking small pine trees before colliding with a large tree.
Ferry was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Oakfield resident Jonathan Coombs, 19, was ejected from the car during the crash.
Coombs was taken by Mercy Flight to ECMC where he is currently in trauma ICU.
