To prevent accidents, keep a safe distance between your car and other cars on the roadway. Be prepared to stop suddenly, and drive more slowly. It could take three to twelve times as much distance for you to stop your car as it does on the dry roads.
Make sure to keep your headlights on a low beam, because a high beam can cause a dangerous glare on the snow.
You may think once you’ve reached to parking lot of your destination, that you’re out of the danger zone. However, sometimes people find that parking lots are the slickest spots. If you can stay at a slower speed from the beginning to the end of your drive, it might help keep you safe.

Any snow that has fallen overnight, will be gone by Wednesday afternoon, as temperatures rise above freezing. Slick spots Wednesday morning were the worst in Blasdell, Lackawanna and West Seneca, where the heavier snow fell.
