BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A family surprised National Guard Specialist Gabe Laracuente Monday night, when he came home from Afghanistan. The plan was for Laracuente to get to town and surprise his mom and sisters upon his return, but his family turned the table on him.
A lot of his family, including his daughter, sisters, parents, nieces and nephews were on hand as he returned to the Buffalo Niagara International Airport Monday night, for a hero’s welcome.
His entire family is very proud of the job he has been doing to serve his country.
Gabe's father Rick Laracuente said, “It's been a long 10 months, a long 10 months and we were really worried about him, thank God he's home, we love him, and I'm proud of him....we're all here for him, we love him.”
Gabe didn’t have much to say other than he’s happy to be back.
