BLASDELL, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man who authorities say  held Village of Blasdell Police and Town of Hamburg SWAT team and negotiators at bay for more than seven hours Wednesday night and Thursday  morning was taken into custody without incident.

The Blasdell police chief identified the man as Dale Kluczynski.  Lt. Mike Melisz, Chief of Blasdell Police, says Kluczynski will have a mental evaluation, and charges against him are pending.

Village of Blasdell police responded to Lake Avenue about 5:30pm Wednesday evening where a man was holed up in his home with a shotgun.  Town of Hamburg police SWAT team also responded to the scene.

After hours of negotiations with the suspect, late Wednesday night,  News 4 crews on the scene reported  the suspect came out of his home and sat on the porch to talk to police.  Authorities tried to apprehend the suspect but failed and he retreated back into his home.  About one hour later the stand off ended peacefully.
