CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. (WIVB) - State Police and plow drivers have been out in full force along the I-90 Wednesday night. Their preparation has kept travel disruptions to a minimum even with more than an inch of snow falling in some hours.
For some used to driving in the snow, it was a day like any other. For others, it was a different story.
"The snow itself is not going to block the road, that's not going to be our problem. If the road gets blocked, it will be because of a number of accidents," said NYS Police, Sgt. Gregory Peron.
Those traveling in a plane are having more trouble than those traveling on the ground. More than 1,700 flights have been cancelled nationwide.
At the Buffalo Niagara International Airport, almost all of Wednesday night's arrivals and departures were either delayed or cancelled. Thursday, most arrivals are on time but some departures are delayed or canceled due to the weather in Buffalo.
