The NWS ruled that a microburst of straight-line winds, not a tornado, caused extensive damage a downtown Buffalo neighborhood. The winds were estimated to be 60 - 65 MPH, in a small area of 75 x 145 yards. The high winds tore the roof off of the Mineo & Sapio building, uprooted trees, and tossed debris down the street.
