KENMORE, N.Y. (WIVB) - Students in Kenmore were fueling their future Saturday and that was the theme of this year's Annual Western New York Future City Competition.
Sixth, seventh and eighth grade students team up with engineer mentors to build a tabletop size future city model.
Carlo Zavatti of WNY Future Cities Competition said, "It allows the students to use the engineering, math and sciences to hopefully boost their confidence and possibly look towards engineering as a potential career."
The cities are supposed to be built from recycled material at a cost of under 100-dollars.
The winning team will go to Washington D.C. next month to compete in a Future City National finals.
