The Globe jumps to paywall on Monday

Toronto online paper will charge $20 a month

TORONTO, ONT. (WIVB) - Another popular newspaper is going to a paywall system.  The Toronto Globe and Mail will be making the jump to a pay as you go system on Monday, October 22.

Like many newspapers, the Globe needs to increase revenue.

The paper will start charging $20 a month for full access to its website however online access to the website will be free for weekly print subscribers.

The Globe and Mail joins many other papers including the New York Times and Wall Street Journal who are charging for the website content.
