Time ticks for holiday shoppers

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Time is ticking for all you last-minute shoppers out there. You can expect plenty of company if you're making a last-minute trip to the mall Monday.

The Boulevard Mall has been packed with gift givers, hoping to score big deals. Dawn Canastraro was a last-minute shopper, and she said, “Yeah, it is tough to get it all together with all the holidays, and then you forget, Oh, I've got one more gift, gotta get back out there, and it's hectic, so yeah it's crazy."

Some stores have been open around the clock all weekend. Shopper Louise Clyburn said, “"I think it's good for some people. I was tempted to come last night at midnight, but I thought, no I'll wait till tomorrow.”

If you don’t know what to get, Jackie Durinka from Simply Certificates says she has the ultimate gift for shoppers who are running out of time.

Durinka said, “We can get their gift list checked off for everyone. They can go to spas, they can go golfing, there's ski places, there's western New York, there's Pennsylvania, there's restaurants all over the place for them to go to."

Shopper Jeanette Rohn said, "I think I'm going to get a gift certificate, that's the safest thing.”

No matter what you’ve got to grab last minute, even if you have to brave the crowds, shoppers say there is no shortage of holiday spirit.

Andy Macaluso said, "Oh, I think it's good seeing everyone out buying stuff for their families and just in a good spirit."
