ALBANY, NY (WIVB) - Time Warner Cable will be refunding $2.2 million to 18,000 customers, some of them in Batavia.
The refunds come in a settlement for overcharges traced to franchise agreements Time Warner inherited when it took over certain cable territories in 1995.
As part of a of a settlement with the New York Attorney General subscribers in upstate towns including Batavia, Geneva, Lima, Livonia and Waterloo are in line for refunds.

Time Warner overbilled customers in 10 towns and villages dating back to 2007.
Time Warner customers should see credits averaging $119 within the next 90 days.
The amount of credit will vary according to the cost of packages subscribers were signed up for.
