Tips can keep WNYers safe in storm

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - To prepare for Hurricane Sandy’s impact on western New York, there are some simple tips on staying safe.

Storm Preparedness

-Keep sewers clear of leaves & debris

-Move everything off basement floors

-Check sump pump

-Treat any down powerline as "live"

As much as eight inches of rain could fall in parts of the East Coast in the coming days. Here in western New York, forecasts are calling for about two to three inches.
