Tips on how to stay safe during Spring

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - If you remembered to set your clocks ahead, hopefully you remembered to change the batteries in your carbon monoxide detectors and smoke alarms as well.

The Red Cross is reminding homeowners to check up on home safety which includes replacing batteries, checking alarm text buttons, and making an emergency plan.

Tips on how to prepare a plan include: Make a ready kit to properly fit the situation. Must haves are water, hand warmers, fresh batteries, power bars, blankets, etc.
