GREAT VALLEY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Authorities are investigating a deadly farm accident in Cattaraugus County.
Police found the body of 29-year-old August Lindell trapped in the "beater bars" of the manure spreader attached to his tractor, in the middle of a field in Great Valley. Investigators believe Lindell was clearing a clog with his feet when he was pulled into the machinery.
"He had several injuries to his lower part of his body and an injury to the upper part of his body. We're confident he died instantly from those injuries," said Cattaraugus County Sheriff's Capt. Robert Buchhardt.
It is unknown how long Lindell had been in the field before his body was found.
