Pendleton, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Niagara County Sheriff’s Office confirms that one person was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Bear Ridge Rd. in Pendleton late Tuesday evening.

Emergency crews on the scene report that a pick-up truck with a trailer was backing into a driveway when it was hit by an oncoming car at approximately 10 p.m. The driver of car, Frank Panepento Jr., 60, was killed.

The driver of the pick-up truck was arrested and charged with DUI .

An investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
