BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - As the day gets later, and the night turns darker, the snow will only fall harder.
Many people flying to or from home might have a hard time making their flight.
There are many in the airport keeping their fingers crossed their flight goes out on time, and there's others who simply go with the flow.
Judy Brice is flying back to Germany today, she says, 'I just go with the flow, I don't have any other choice."
Whereas Samra Zedweldi, a Toronto resident, feels differently about a change in her flight schedule. She says, "The trip might be cancelled all together; we might have to find an alternative day an alternative time, I don't know. We've been looking forward to it, we've been planning for a couple of months."
Whether travelers can get out of the Buffalo Niagara Airport this week or not, they will just have to be patient.
Currently at the airport, there are more delays and cancellations than flights running on time. Some of the problem cities are Chicago, Cleveland, Newark, and New York.
Back on the ground, State Police continue to get ready for the storm, they say they'll have extra troopers on hand tonight. They will also be in their Emergency Operation Center working with the Thruway Authority ready for any accidents that may be a result of the storm.
Many people are currently scrambling around gathering essentials for tonight's snowstorm and what better place to get them than at Home Depot?
Jud Mattison, the Assistant Store Manager of Cheektowaga's store says in regards to snow blowers, "You want to make sure you have some fresh gas that has been sitting around for more than even a few weeks that would need to be freshened up to make sure the machine is going to run properly."
State Police are asking anyone not to drive tonight unless they absolutely have to. For those who do decide to brave the storm, make sure to give yourself extra time and slow down, watch out for slippery ramps, and be careful of winds. Also, make sure your tires are properly inflated and that you have a full tank of gas.
For anyone who runs into problems tonight, Call the Emergency Thruway number at 1-800-842-2233.
