Travel advisory for drivers in Lockport

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WIVB) - Attention drivers, be aware there is a travel advisory for anyone driving on Transit Road or Robinson Road in Lockport.

The New York State Department of Transportation is repaving Transit Road, Rt. 78, from the Lockport city line to Robinson Road, Rt. 93, starting Monday, September 24, at 7 am. There will be road closures, in both directions, until 4 pm.

There will also be closures on Robinson Road, from Transit Road to William Gregory bypass, starting Monday, September 24 through Saturday, September 29.

Drivers are asked to seek different routes if possible during that week. State police will be patrolling these roads during construction. Remember, fines are doubled for speeding in work zones.

All of the work is weather sensitive, and could be delayed if there is inclement weather.
