JAMESTOWN, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two Jamestown residents are accused of petit larceny and misuse of food stamps, after a tipline call notified Chautauqua County about their unreported income.
The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office says 54-year-old Keith Carlson and 51-year-old Julie Carlson had not reported $18,000 in cash to the Department of Social Services. They both received public benefits during June 2012 that they were not entitled to.
The sheriff’s office asks the public to report any welfare fraud to 1-800-782-7463, or the Welfare Fraud Hotline at 1-800-388-5365.
