Deaths appear to be bizarre coincidence

LACKAWANNA, N.Y. (WIVB) - Police have found two bodies in separate mobile homes in Lackwanna Thursday, in a case that appears to be a bizarre coincidence. The bodies were found in trailers in two separate mobile home parks off Electric Avenue. The trailers involved are within a block.

First Responders were called to a mobile home on Shamrock Drive Wednesday night, and found a 45-year-old man dead from what police believe was an overdose. Within hours, neighbors called police about a mobile home on Van Wyck.

At the home on Van Wyck, authorities found the body of a 62-year-old woman they believe died of natural causes, possibly up to one week ago. A nephew was suspicious that he hadn’t seen his aunt or heard her dog, barking like they often would. The woman had three dogs and eight cats.

Sean Darling said, “She depended on her pets as her lifeline, it was like her family, her kids. I don’t know how to describe the way she lives, or why she lived the way she lived. She had family, and we tried and tried to get her out, she just didn’t want to leave her home. It’s just horrible.”

The Lackawanna Police Captain said Thursday that neither death seems suspicious.
