JAVA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A two- car accident occurred in the Town of Java on Saturday around 6:30 p.m.

Wyoming County Sheriff’s Deputies say 18-year-old Tiffany Simon, of Sloan, was traveling north on Curriers Road, when she allegedly failed to stop at the stop sign at Route 78. Police say 61-year-old Robert Smith’s  vehicle was struck head-on by Simon's car.

Smith, of Farmersville Station, suffered from minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Wyoming County Community Hospital where he was treated and later released.

Simon and her passenger were not injured. Simon was issued a citation for failure to stop at the stop sign.
