NEW YORK CITY, NY (WIVB) - The last minute decision to cancel the New York City Marathon didn't stop most runners today.
Thousands of runners laced up and took off in Central Park this morning to run 26.2 miles equaling out to a little more than 4 laps around the park.
A local runner was among those racers in the city otherwise known as Doctor Daniel Buscaglia.
The doctor was running to raise money for the Autism Speaks Foundation.
Today, him along with the other racers ran to also raise money to help with the Sandy relief.
The local runners 16-year-old daughter also participated in the race while his brother, Doctor Tony Buscaglia took part in this morning's marathon in Delaware Park.
