AMHERST, N.Y. (WIVB) - The University at Buffalo is now looking to tear down its nuclear research reactor. The Buffalo Material Research Center has been closed since 1994, and radioactive fuel has already been removed.
UB will hold a community information meeting on the issue Thursday at 6 p.m. at Allen Hall on the South Campus. The facility was built back in 1961 for medical research.
