ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (WIVB) - A man had to be cut from a car Wednesday morning, after it flipped over on Route 219.

Crews were called to the southbound lane of Route 219 near 20-A in Orchard Park, just before 7 a.m. When they got on scene, crews worked to free the man.

Officials are saying slick roads could have played a role in the crash. The roads were not just a problem for drivers, but for rescue workers as well.

Windom Fire Company Chief Nick Lobur said, “All the apparatus had to be careful with their response, and then the shoulder of the road was icy, so we had to make sure that our personnel safety was taken care of.”

The driver was able to walk around after he got out of the car, but there is no word on the extend of his injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
