LEICASTER, N.Y. (WIVB) - A Leicester, New York teen was driving Sunday, when she lost control of a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe on ST-19. State Police say 17-year-old Brooke E. Valentino lost control of the vehicle when turning onto Silver Lake Road, causing it to slide sideways, impact a utility pole and then come to a rest on its passenger side.

Valentino was taken to Wyoming County Community Hospital and a 20-year-old female passenger was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. There were both treated, and police say there were no life-threatening injuries.

Valentino was ticketed for moving from a lane unsafely and operating an unregistered motor vehicle.
