Vehicle strikes woman as she gets mail

MARILLA, N.Y. (WIVB) - A 67-year-old Marilla woman was walking out to get her mail Monday night, when she was hit by a vehicle traveling on Two Rod Road.
State Police say Sandra E. Chandler was crossing the street to get her mail around 7:10 p.m. Monday. According to police, 23-year-old Hannah L. Slade, of East Aurora, was unable to stop her vehicle before striking Chandler. Police say Chandler was struck in the middle of the roadway, throwing her 25 feet, where she landed in a ditch.
Mercy Flight transported Chandler to ECMC, where she is listed in critical condition.
