BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A project to turn the old Millard Fillmore Gates Hospital into a veterinary school is in the running to get a slice of the Billion for Buffalo. The project is slated to cost about $65 million.

Lieutenant Governor Robert Duffy is in charge of bringing Upstate New York from the brink of its own fiscal and economic cliff.  Thursday a blue ribbon regional panel was identified three core areas for development: manufacturing, tourism, and life sciences.
