NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WIVB) - New York state is putting $3 million to work improving Niagara Falls State Park, but some of the most impressive views of the Falls will be blocked during the rehab project.
Construction work has blocked access to the Three Sisters Islands and Luna Island during the project which will not be completed until Spring of 2013.
The plan for $2 million in upgrades to Three Sisters and another more than a million in work for Luna Island.
When complete the nation's oldest park will have expanded parking, a new trolley shelter and new pedestrian walkways.
Niagara Falls State Park is the star attraction in the state's park system, attracting 8 million visitors annually.
