ALBANY, N.Y. (RELEASE) - The State Board of Elections reminds all voters that Tuesday, November 6th will be the day of the General Election in New York. Polls will be open from 6 am to 9 pm.
The State has established a toll-free number to assist voters with questions about voting, poll site changes and absentee ballots. The number is 1-855-NYS-SANDY (1-855-697-7263).
Voters and poll workers can also check the NYS Board of Elections website ( www.elections.ny.gov ) for up-to-the-minute poll site changes.
New York City residents can also check the Board of Elections in the City of New York website ( www.vote.nyc.ny.us ) as well. The Mayor's Office "311" number can also answer questions about poll site changes as well.
Voters may still go to their local board of elections and cast an absentee ballot in person up to Monday, November 5th; completed absentee ballots must be postmarked no later than Monday November 5th or dropped off at the appropriate Board of Elections before 9 pm on Tuesday, November 6th.
