FREDONIA, NY (WIVB) - Students living on the SUNY Fredonia campus were hit with an unpleasant surprise when a 6-inch waterline broke Sunday night.

The Dunkirk Observer reports that the break was about 14 feet underground.  If forced water to be shut off in several residence halls including the Andrews Residence Complex.

The university reported it would provide porta potties outside each of the affected areas and would provide bottled water to the students.

The repairs were expected to take approximately 24 hours.
