Wegmans expands self checkouts
Hamburg and Alberta Drive stores have self service

AMHERST, NY - Wegmans Supermarkets have installed self-checkout counters at two markets in western New York.
The do-it-yourself lanes are now at the Alberta Drive store in Amherst as well as the location on McKinley Parkway in Hamburg.
Don’t worry if you are not a self service kind of person – Wegmans will not be replacing human cashiers with automation any time in the near future.
Wegmans typically has 20 traditional checkout lanes with cashiers. The self service lanes are just in addition to the traditional ones.
