AAA closing Dunkirk travel center

DUNKIRK, NY (WIVB) - The Dunkirk AAA Travel and Insurance Center will be closing its doors at the end of March.

The Dunkirk Observer reports members recently received a letter explaining that the AAA will be shutting the center March 30.  The center on Vineyard Drive has been providing services to the community for the past five years.

The AAA explains that the decision was made based on fewer members using the facility and getting travel and membership services online.

AAA operates 12 travel centers in the 25 counties of New York State and is constantly evaluating which ones make the most sense to keep open to best serve the public.

The closing date apparently  coincides with the expiration of the company's lease on the building.
