EAST AURORA, NY (WIVB) -
Charlotte Jacobs, a junior at Buffalo Seminary, on Monday qualified for the United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) Young Riders European Tour by finishing in second-place overall in the Artisan Farms Young Rider Grand Prix, which is a major international junior equestrian event held during the Winter Equestrian Festival. The event was held at the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center in Wellington, Fla. She will compete in the United States Equestrian Federation Young Riders European Tour in May or June.
This winter Charlotte racked up a number of victories in other events during the festival:
-- Topped a field of 59 entries to win the Washington International Horse Show (WIHS) Equitation.
-- Won the Griffis Group Junior Jumper Classic.
-- Won the Platinum Performance USEF Show Jumping Talent Search
Last year, at 16, she qualified to represent the United States and competed in the 2011 FEI (Federation Equestrian International) World Cup Finals in Leipzig, Germany.
Charlotte is an East Aurora native. Her parents are Joan and Lou Jacobs, one of the principals of Delaware North Companies.
