Killeen Police Public Affairs Officer Carroll Smith said, "Right now, the motive is not being said. They're still investigating it and like I said, we have put out feelers to everybody, seeing if anyone can tell us who this might have been."
Fort Hood officials say Sampson entered active duty in 2006 as a cavalry scout after graduating from Letchworth Central. He has been at Fort Hood since November 2006.
