WILSON, N.Y. (WIVB) - Two of the Johnson family members, who were injured in a home explosion earlier this week, are improving Thursday.
Father Jody Johnson and his son Nathan Johnson are both in good condition at ECMC. Jody's wife Judy is in fair condition at the hospital, while their daughter Katie remains in critical condition.
There's a tremendous outpouring of support for the family who lost a loved one and their home to an explosion in the town of Wilson.
So many donations have been pouring in for the Johnson family, that the First Baptist Church in Wilson had to close their clothing drop off.
Church officials say they have a room full of new and lightly-used clothes. Thursday a number of volunteers are organizing the items for the family.
Church officials say they're very thankful for everyone's generosity. But if you want to give, they ask that you do so by donating money.
Because of the great support for the Johnson family, there's a number of places to donate online. Wilson Baptist Church has their own site and an account on Indiegogo has been launched.
Also, 103.3 The Edge radio station raised money during their cruise night in North Tonawanda for the Johnsons.
“This really affected the community. And we're apart of this community. You just can't help but say your heat bleeds for the family. all of the struggles at one time, they're all a tragedy,” said Tom Shredd, of 103.3 The Edge. "You know I think we'll be collecting for a couple weeks, you know, this story doesn't go away in a couple days.”
Katie Johnson is still fighting for her life Thursday afternoon. She's still in critical condition in the burn unit.
Her parents Jody and Judy, as well as her brother Nathan are in fair condition.
