BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Snow was hard to come by but there was still plenty of fun at a festival held Saturday at Tifft Nature Preserve.

Another weekend and another above average day for temperatures. We haven't seen much in the way of snow this winter and even when we have warm temperatures and rain have melted it shortly after.

So the frosty fun festival at the Tifft Nature Preserve wasn't very frosty but that didn't stop them from having plenty of activities for kids and families.

Tifft Experience Nanager, Lauren Makeyenko said, "We have fun crafts for kids inside the building as well as some furs and other bio facts. We have information on how snowflakes form. We are still doing outdoor stuff as well. We have a frosty fun Olympics out here at the deck and we are leading guided tours."

There are animal tracks out on the preserve and because of the warm weather some birds have already started migrating back.

Guests were unable to go snow shoeing but are giving out discounted snow shoe rentals for the next time the area gets six inches of snow.

While winter enthusiasts may be missing out, Betsy Frazer says she isn't upset over the warmer winter.

Frazer said, "We have been doing ice skating and we try to things every weekend with the kids. We actually didn't go to ice skating lessons today because it is much more fun to be outside. I have some friends who ski with their kids and they lost a lot of money this year because they haven't been able to ski with them. It's been nice not shoveling. I live in Allentown and we don't have a driveway and it's nice to have a place to park everyday."
