BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Several Western New Yorkers can now make plans to be in the Nation's Capitol next month thanks to U.S Senator Charles Schumer.

Schumer conducted a free lottery for tickets to the Presidential Inaugural Ceremony on January 21st.

Tens of thousands entered and 225 were selected including 5 from WNY.

In a release we received from his office, Schumer says, “I am thrilled for these New Yorkers, who will soon be headed to Washington D.C. to witness a piece of America’s history. The winners of this lottery have the unique opportunity to attend President Barack Obama’s swearing-in ceremony and I am certain that they will remember this moment for years and years to come. Although I wish all of New York could attend the Inauguration, I ask you to join me in congratulating these lucky New Yorkers for winning their tickets."

The winners from Western New York include:

Kimberly Mays, Buffalo
Jerri Joyce, Getzville
Sarah Hillman, Niagara Falls
Judi McCarthy, Allegany
Albert Lampo, Frewsburg
