BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - Health care workers at all levels and from all different facilities, ranging from hospitals to nursing homes, are picketing because they say low staffing levels are putting patients at risk everyday.
Local CWA 1168 organized the informational picket Wednesday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m.

Nurses say staffing ratios are dangerously low. One nurse said she is caring for 10 patients, instead of the maximum of four patients in certain hospital settings.
They say they are picketing in front of Kaleida because it’s one of the largest health care providers, but it’s an issue that’s impacting many health care facilities. They are hoping to get a staff ration bill signed into law.
Workers are asking you to contact your state representatives to encourage them to bass a staffing bill.
