WARSAW, N.Y. (WIVB) - Monday, two Warsaw students charged in connection with a high school hazing scandal will be back in Wyoming County Court.

Police say the two boys, 16 and 17, bullied two fellow teammates from the wrestling team into fighting. During the fight, a 15-year-old boy broke his jaw.

Investigators say the assault happened in a team room with no supervision. The wrestling coach, Rob Hirsch, has been placed on unpaid suspension for 30 days.

He has since returned and released a statement, saying, "The boys involved failed to exercise good character and good judgment. I do not believe they meant to hurt anyone or put the program in jeopardy, but they did both. Their poor judgment is my poor judgment, for this, I am sorry."

He went on to say he will take a closer look at practice sessions and start up a plan to make sure all athletes learn from the mistakes made in the team room that day.

You can read his full statement here.
