BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - A shelter that provides a safe haven for domestic violence victims is in shambles. The YWCA of Western New York says someone set a safe house on fire.
The flames caused about $100,000 in damage, and the building will need extensive repairs. The group is asking the community to help.
Board Chair Gwen Howard said, “ We have a need of donations of goods, services, materials, labor and financial contributions to help put this much needed unit back on track for Erie County residents, and we’re asking the community to help.”
