AKRON, N.Y. (WIVB) - Jack Davis' entry into the race for the 26 District seat in Congress came right after an announcement at the Erie County Industrial Development Agency.

He went there looking for approval to fund a $4 million expansion at his I-Squared R-Element plant in Akron. The plant makes silicon carbon heating elements and already employs about 80 workers.

"This will create 20 new jobs over the next three years. The meeting went well and it was approved," said Davis.

The 36,000 square foot expansion still needs approval from the village of Akron's planning board. They're expected to discuss it at their next meeting late next month.
