ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - Should State Senators, convicted of Class-A Misdemeanors, get the boot?

That's one of the questions being raised as Democratic leaders consider a new measure that would require automatic expulsion. This follows the misdemeanor assault conviction of Queens Senator, Hiram Monserrate, who went on trial for dragging his girlfriend.

A felony conviction would have cost him his job.
