ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - On day 66 without a budget, the state Legislature has apparently decided this is the week it will really get down to business.

Assembly Majority Leader Ron Canestrari says a big push is needed now and painful, permanent cuts will be agreed to beginning this week. What's fueling this push now? Governor Paterson's emergency spending measures. Monday's emergency spending bill includes major health care cuts to nursing homes. Lawmakers have no choice but to go along with these temporary cuts or see government shut down.
