ST. LAWRENCE COUNTY, N.Y. (WIVB) - If you don't want to get a new license plate next year, you're not alone.
The clerk from Saint Lawrence County, near Watertown, has launched an online petition drive.

She says, it's an outrage to pay more for license plates, that drivers don't want or need, during a recession.
Under the latest state budget, every registered vehicle in New York State will require a new plate sometime after April 1st, a $25 fee, which is $10 more than the current cost.
