U.S. (WIVB) - The nation's unemployment rate has hit a 26 year high.
The latest government figures show the jobless rate rose to 10.2% in October.
It's the first time it's been above 10% since 1983.
190,000 Americans lost their jobs in October alone.
John Campbell said, "These numbers are bad. I hope that this is a wake-up call to the administration and to the Congress that the number one priority in this country for all Americans, for both parties and for the administration and this Congress, should be jobs, jobs, and again, jobs."
On Friday, President Obama signed a measure that extends unemployment benefits to millions of Americans looking for work.
