BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - The Genesee County Legislature has joined every other county in Western New York in calling for the repeal of the NY SAFE Act.

The legislature unanimously passed a resolution Thursday, calling for the repeal of the nation's toughest gun law. Genesee County joins Allegany, Chautauqua, Cattaraugus, Erie, Niagara, Orleans and Wyoming counties in calling for the NY SAFE Act to be repealed.

The vote in Genesee County came on the same day opponents of the law rallied in Albany. Thousands came together to call on Governor Andrew Cuomo and NYS lawmakers to act.
