ALBANY, N.Y. (WIVB) - The State Labor Department says Colgan Air, the airline that operated Flight 3407, is closing its plant in Albany.

The state says the facility is shutting down for economic reasons, putting 53 people out of work. Colgan's parent company, Pinnacle Airlines, previously went bankrupt.

Both companies came under fire after the 2009 air disaster in Clarence Center after investigators pointed to poor pilot training. The crash also prompted a crusade to increase air safety.
