ALBANY, NY (WIVB) - Governor Andrew Cuomo has called for a wine and beer summit in Albany Wednesday. The governor is looking for ideas on how the state can help business owners.
Vintners and brewers are expected to draft a action plan to boost their business.
Governor Cuomo’s office reports that there are 321 wineries, six breweries and 75 micro-breweries statewide, as well as 58 liquor distilleries and 23 cider producers.
This business employs 4,000 people and pays $182 million in annual wages.
In August, Governor Cuomo held a Yogurt Summit. At the end of that meeting he relaxed some environmental regulations for dairy farms.
