ELMIRA, N.Y. (AP) - Federal officials say they're investigating the death of a 50-year-old worker who was killed last week in an industrial accident at an upstate New York factory.

The Star-Gazette of Elmira reports that Birmingham, Ala.-based McWane Inc., the parent company of Kennedy Valve in Elmira, has released the name of the worker who was killed Friday night. The company says Michael Donahue of Elmira died while he was making repairs to a hydraulic tabletop in the factory's mold department.

The U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Syracuse district office is investigating the accident. An OSHA official says the agency won't comment yet on the investigation.

It's the third fatal accident since 2003 at Kennedy Valve, which makes fire hydrants and water system valves.
